The Difference Between Milk, White And Dark Chocolate

There are few things in life that are as tempting and satisfying as chocolate, finding the right sweet for you is a process of elimination of sorts. It is often asked what the difference between: white, dark, and milk chocolate. While each has its place on the roster of mouth watering sweets, each form of chocolate has its own unique signature. Finding the right chocolate for you, is something that may in fact take a bit of time. This is because the body changes as you age and so too do your taste buds. What you may have enjoyed ten years ago may simply be too sweet for you now.

Dark Chocolate Is A Perfectionist’s Passion

One of the most noticeable things about dark chocolate is its deep rich color. Dark chocolate is devoid of milk, hence its lack of light creamy pigment. Aside from the deep color, dark chocolate is also set aside from its milk chocolate counterpart in the fact that it is very low on sugar. This is what drives many serious chocolate lovers to this treat and it is also considered safe for diabetics as well. Considering the fact that dark chocolate is low on sugar and other sweetening products, it is usually most enjoyed by an older and more discerning crowd. You are more likely to see someone in the late 20’s and older enjoying this form of chocolate opposed to someone in the teens or younger.

Milk Chocolate Is Heart Warming

When it comes to milk chocolate, there are very few things bad to say about it. While it is true it does have more sugar that its older and more select sibling being dark chocolate, it is hard to pass it up when it is in sight. The milk in this chocolate can reap havoc for someone that is lactose intolerant, so it is always a good idea to read the label prior to consumption. As far as taste goes, milk chocolate is cream smooth goodness. This is by far the most popular chocolate on the market, and you will find this treat gracing homes during just about every major holiday and function worldwide. This may make milk chocolate the prom queen of all sweets, yet it is still not for everyone. Some simply find the sugar content in milk chocolate, to be just a little over the top. Often times it is cited that this is what takes the chocolate out of milk chocolate all together. Either way love it or hate it, milk chocolate has its place among the realms of pleasure.

White Chocolate Might Not Belong In The Family

If you were to ask a true chocolate connoisseur whether or not white chocolate was actually chocolate at all, and you would get a resounding NO. A true chocolate lover will cite the fact that white chocolate contains no cacao liquor meaning that it is not really chocolate. White chocolate does contain cacao butter, yet this is simply not enough for those that: live, eat, breath chocolate. Regardless of what it is made of, there is a place on the shelves for this delightful white treat.
